Place: Royal Orchid Park Plaza, Airport Road, Bangalore-5600017, ph:2520 5566

Category: PUB

Landmark: airport rd -> towards MG rd , after Manipal hospital you will see a petrol bunk , steer left and go for a km and you cant miss the great place.

Seating: The best , very much comfortable , leather seats and ample leg space

Ambience: Lots of wood ... glass paintings... ol British pub theme

Music: dont bother

crowd: matured... business execs .. firangs ...

Ideal time:any time, but reserve your seats in adv

Parking:dont worry , enuf space available. valet parking option available.

Food: The kabab platers were very good ... both veg and non are good ... dont miss the american corn fry ... dont try the pasta there ... its not worth it ..

Dress code: cant remember , business casuals should be ok

Favourite drink: The cocktails do not match their price tag, however the "red moon" was good - it had this funny smell on to it ... but it was good while drinking.... tiger beer is available, dont miss it .

Best Time Pass: tiger beer (175 for a Pint) + american corn fry + F1 on the huge plasma tv. I somehow feel ferrari is back. Now that u can change your tyres any number of time , its no more an issue with that bridgestone tyres ... both 1 and 2 places have secured by ferari .. in the bahrain qualifying round ..schumi has the pole position cant wait to see tomorrow's race ...

Price: dont forget your credit card , coz u cant carry that much cash ... ;-) any drink on an avg costs 500 + , same goes for the food

Dance Floors: nope

Overall rating: 9. (+ excellent service , +great food , + great variety of drinks , + nice ambience, +not crowded , +parking, - music, - pasta ;-) )

TGIF

Place: Airport Rd, Bangalore

Category: TGIF ;-)

Landmark: when the inner ring road from koramangala meets airport road... take right and immediately on the left you will find TGIF

Seating: Good . Bar stools , or the table ... its your choice ...

Ambience: Same as other TGIF's ... good-ok

Music:Last time i was there , they were playing 70-80's rock .... and not too loud ... u can actually talk here ....

crowd: All sorts of people.

Ideal time:Get in at 4 to avail Happy Hours ;-) ... dont worry time just flies off here

Parking:This is little tricky ..... There is a road on the left just before TGIF on airport rd , but its one way ... you cant enter it from Airport road ....
so you need to enter 100ft road (st from koramangala , or left when comming from MG Road )
and take the first right and then right again ... there you are ... the secret parking place ....you can park you car anywhere on this road ... just dont keep any valuables in th car ....

Food: dont expect desi food here ... it all american and get ready to taste some really bland food. Warning- Pictures on the menu are deceptive....remember ... if it looks good , it may not necessarily taste good. ..... go in for the platter and see what you like ....

Dress code: None (jeans and t shirt will do) . but uno ... just dress up and have fun....

Favourite drink: Every drink is really good out here ..... i personally like the shooters and strawberry daiquiri ..... a large tequilla shot will cost you 500+ ....but then trust me...u will love it
...u can also get cigars out here ... i like the capa ones ....why not try out the jewels...vanilla flavour ....

Price: Higher side ... expect 200o+ per head ... but its worth the time and drink .

Cover charges:not sure

Dance Floors: dont remember

Overall rating: 9(+drinks+space+comfort+music+ambience+service+food, -price-parking-airport road traffic jam...)

Summary: Good place to unwind , be it day or night .... quality drinks with good service...ofcourse comes with a price :-)

"Enigma"

Place: Enigma, Bangalore

Category: Pub

Landmark: Inner ring road Koramangala. When you go from Koramangala to airport road , you get this on your left hand side , on the main road. After sukh sagar.

Seating: very comfortable, not congested .... you can sit like a king.

Ambience: Fantastic. Modern - chic - Neat . good ligting and night sky decor on the ceiling. TV's are little out of date. This place is so spacious , you dont get your neighbours smoke on your face.

Music: till 9pm they play popular music and after that its mix of dance-hip hop-punk-trance.

crowd: Its koramangala , who else do u expect ? mostly techi crowd. u can also spot some college kids ;-)

Ideal time:Enter by 8 to get the place of your choice.

Parking:Two wheelers available outside the pub. Cars will have to parked on the opp side. Valet Parking available.

Food: Peanut masala goes well with the draught. Otherwise nothing special.

Dress code: None (jeans and t shirt will do) . This place has got lots of black fluorescent lights ... so your white notes will be greatly highlighted, dress accordingly ;-)

Favourite drink: Beer,Beer,Beer. I have had the best beer in blore here . It was so fresh and refreshing you just cant stop ;-)

Price: Normal. expect 400 per head.

Cover charges: 250 for the stags on fri-sat-sun.

Dance Floors: Available, but its small . Get a partner if u wanna shake your leg.

Overall rating: 8/10 ( + for seating,+fresh beer,+parking,+service, - DJ)

Summary: This was my first time there .... it has exceeded my expectations.....The pluses were the Beer , seating comfort, good service, u get attn, decent crowd, modest menu. And the minus .... nothing really ... but i would like to have the DJ changed (he turned down my Du Hast request :-( ).

"Purple Haze"

Place: Purple Haze, Bangalore

Category: Pub

Landmark: Recidency Road, Between St Josephs and Bishop Cotton.

Seating: Not confortable, like most of the pubs in the city. Conjusted.

Music: Unadultrated Rock ! sometimes it goes towards metal on request. Very loud.

crowd: mid 20-30''s, good crowd.

Ideal time:On weekends enter by 8 else u need to stand.

Parking:Ample parking available just outside the pub.

Food: Try Hariyali chicken.

Dress code: None (jeans and t shirt will do) but dressing up is encouraged.

Drink: The beer sucks, it is too watery. Better switch to shooters after a couple of mugs.

Favourite drink: Havent decided.

Price: Not on the higher side. Like any other average pub in blore.Expect 500 per head .

Cover charges: 300 for the Gentleman on saturdays .

Dance Floors: None

Overall rating: 7/10 ( - for seating,+music,-cover charges + for parking, + toilets,+crowd,+ambience,-loud)

Summary: This place is strictly for rock buffs only. The ambience is very good, appropriately lit and takes you back to the hendrix days ! If u have a lot of catching up to do, then avoid this place as its too loud .

"Guzzlers"

Place: Guzzlers Inn, Bangalore

Landmark: Parallel to church street, second street on brigade road when u walk down the road.

Seating: comfortable, one of the best i have seen in blore (if you get the corner seats ;-) )

Music: 80's Rock to the latest. Popular music. Very good systems , you can talk even when the music is pumping.Rock goes on a high by 10.30 and by 11.30 the music slows down.

crowd: mid 20-30''s decent crowd.

Ideal time:On weekends enter by 8 (if u r a stag) else u need to stand.Couples can anyhow find a place.

Parking:Two wheelers available on the same street. Cars will have to parked on M.G Road or Cavalry road or opp or inside symphony theatre.

Food: Peanut masala and french fries go well with the draught. Otherwise nothing special.

Dress code: None (jeans and t shirt will do)

Favourite drink: Havent decided.

Price: lesser than other pubs in the area.

Cover charges: None

Dance Floors: None

Overall rating: 7/10 ( + for seating,+music,+cover charges - for parking, - toilets(not very clean))

Summary:Guzzlers being my first pub when in school holds a special place....those days (1996-97) it used to be pretty empty and get to see the regulars .Later people used to call it a Gay Bar, but i couldnt notice anything like that. It is a place to hangout with your friends, have a chat and take out the stress.

.....happy Guzzling
